MITCHELL – Catherine Houchin, 88, passed away at 9:05 p.m. Thursday, August 28, 2014, at the home of her daughter.

 Born April 6, 1926, in Lawrence County, she was the daughter of Charles and Mary (Laga) Tripp.

 Catherine retired from RCA and was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church.

 Surviving:        children, Sharon Abbott, Leesburg, Florida
                                     Charles Houchin, Mitchell
                                     Dorothy Wagner, Mitchell
                                     Marlin Houchin, Mitchell
                                     Kathy Cummings, Mitchell
                                     Carol Hughes, Mitchell
                                     8 grandchildren
                                     several great grandchildren

Her parents and siblings, George Tripp, Clifford Tripp, Anna Yagos, Frances Kalishek, Mary Mallory, Rose Clouse, and Agnes Steigerwald, preceded her in death.

Funeral Mass will be at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, September 3, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church with Father Rick Eldred and Deacon Dave Reising officiating.  Entombment will be in Cresthaven Memory Gardens.

Friends may call from 4:00-8:00 p.m. Tuesday at Chastain Funeral Home & Cremation Center.  A prayer service will be at 7:30 p.m.

    Dear Carol and family, Was so sorry to hear about your Mom's passing my heart goes out to you during such a sad time..I lost both my parents some 16 yrs ago they died 10 months apart not a day passes I don't think of them..I remember going with you to see your Mom out past Lehigh years ago she was a nice lady..We will keep you in our thoughts and prayers.
